Copper foil anodes refer to insoluble precious metal-coated titanium anodes used in the production of electrolytic copper foil. Their main function is to carry out an electrolytic reaction on the titanium anode plate, reducing copper ions into the copper foil. As a crucial core component of the electrolysis system, it reduces copper ions to the cathode roller in the copper sulfate electrolyte through an electrolytic reaction, forming green foil. It features long service life, stable electrode spacing, corrosion resistance, and low energy consumption.
The upstream sector primarily includes suppliers of core raw materials and equipment such as high-purity cathode copper, phosphorus copper balls, titanium anode substrates, electrolyte chemicals (copper sulfate, sulfuric acid, additives), and electrolysis equipment and cathode rollers, providing the basic materials and production conditions for copper foil electrolysis processes. The midstream sector comprises manufacturers of electrolytic copper foil and copper foil anode systems, responsible for producing lithium-ion battery copper foil, PCB electronic copper foil, and high-precision industrial copper foil through electrolytic deposition processes. They also design, process, and surface-treat anode systems to meet varying thickness, strength, and conductivity requirements. The downstream sector is mainly used in lithium-ion batteries, copper-clad laminates (CCL), printed circuit boards (PCBs), new energy vehicles, energy storage systems, consumer electronics, 5G communications, and AI servers.

The demand for copper foil anodes primarily comes from two major sectors: lithium-ion battery copper foil and electronic circuit copper foil (PCB copper foil), with new energy vehicle power batteries currently being the most significant driver of growth. With the rapid growth in demand for power batteries, energy storage batteries, AI servers, and high-frequency, high-speed PCBs, global electrolytic copper foil production capacity continues to expand, directly increasing the demand for copper foil anodes. This is especially true for the production of ultra-thin lithium-ion battery copper foil (6μm, 4.5μm and below), which relies even more heavily on anodes with high uniformity and stability.
