The upstream sector primarily involves the supply of high-purity iron sources (such as ferric sulfate and ferric chloride), chemical reagents (ammonia, reducing agents, and surfactants), and auxiliary materials for water treatment and nanoparticle preparation. These raw materials determine the purity and performance of the nanoparticles. The midstream sector comprises the preparation and functionalization of nano-ferric oxide, encompassing preparation processes such as co-precipitation, sol-gel, and hydrothermal methods, as well as surface modification, particle size control, and dispersion treatment to endow them with magnetic, catalytic, or adsorption functions. Downstream applications are wide-ranging, including magnetic materials (magnetic separation, magnetic recording), biomedicine (targeted drug delivery, MRI contrast agents), catalysts, environmental remediation (wastewater treatment, heavy metal adsorption), and pigments.
