Carbon dioxide capture agents refer to substances that, through physical or chemical actions, adsorb or absorb carbon dioxide from gas mixtures under specific temperatures and pressures and can release the carbon dioxide when conditions change for recycling. These include chemical absorbents (currently mainstream): such as alkanolamines (MEA, MDEA, PZ, etc.), amino acid salts, ionic liquids. Physical adsorbents: such as activated carbon, zeolite molecular sieves, metal-organic frameworks. New capture agents: phase change absorbents (reducing regeneration energy consumption), new solid amine materials. Upstream raw materials include ethylene oxide, liquid ammonia, alcohols (methanol/ethanol), natural gas, etc. Downstream applications include traditional high-carbon industries: coal-fired power plants, steel mills, cement plants, chemical enterprises. As well as emerging fields: blue hydrogen production, direct air capture (DAC). The global market average price is $2,150 per ton, with sales of 115,000 tons and global capacity of 130,000 tons.
